Omkar Shelar is working as a Program Associate with the Strategic Public Finance team in Telangana.

Omkar holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Governance from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Hyderabad, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.

Omkar's work focuses on public finance, education policy, governance, and data-driven decision-making. Prior to joining CEGIS, he authored multiple policy articles through the Impact and Policy Research Institute (IMPRI) and worked on research examining education outcomes, gender disparities in agriculture, and governance reforms.
