The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Government of Maharashtra has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CEGIS to strengthen state capacity across critical government functions.
Under the MoU, CEGIS will work with various Departments in the Government of Maharashtra over five years and will provide technical, analytical, and strategic support on both policies, and implementation in areas of priority to the CMO, Maharashtra.
The partnership will initially focus on developing a Decision Support System (DSS) for the Social Sector War Room - an initiative envisioned to be the CMO’s first port-of-call for enabling data-driven governance backed by analytical evidence. The DSS will help set and track outcome goals against national and international benchmarks, reduce data discrepancies and improve citizen feedback through efficient use of existing supervision mechanisms at department level.
CEGIS will also support the Government of Maharashtra in undertaking structural and institutional reforms to improve long-term delivery and accountability. The engagement will be implemented in a phased manner, beginning with a rapid diagnostic, followed by solution design, piloting, and scale-up.
