Dr. Sekhar Bonu is a senior fellow at NITI Aayog. He worked as the Director General of the Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office at NITI Aayog from April 2019 to June 2022. Prior to that, he worked at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Manila, Philippines, from 2004 to 2019. At ADB, he worked on health, urban infrastructure development and regional cooperation. After finishing his MBBS, he joined the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) in 1987. As an IAS officer, he worked for over a decade in Rajasthan, mainly at the district level, and in education and health at the state level. 

Dr. Bonu has a PhD from Johns Hopkins University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder.
